David completed his doctorate studies at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in England in 1980, following which he joined Impala Platinum Holdings Limited. He later joined the research team at the University of Pretoria and specialized on the Bushveld complex. From 1990 he joined Rudolph de Bruin and together they concentrated on mineral exploration opportunities in Africa. He was a founding member of Platmin. Since 2006 he has focused on new mineral exploration opportunities with Sephaku Holdings. David is a registered member of the South African Council of Natural Scientific Professions, a member of the Geological Society of London and a member of the American-based Society of Economic Geologists.
